No, they were not being prudish. The railways’ guys just got tired of the delays caused by couples kissing long farewells on platforms. In Indiana, a man with a moustache is prohibited from habitually kissing human beings (can they kiss horses, then?). In Colorado’s Logan County, a man cannot kiss a woman while she is asleep; in Hartford (Connecticut), men are prohibited from kissing their wives on Sundays. Kissing can be a tricky lip service. Be careful.

The lip-lock led to Gellar and Blair winning Best Kiss at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards and the moment was celebrated on the network but with a very 2020 COVID twist.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards abandoned a traditional ceremony due to the pandemic this year and decided to honor the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) from the 1980s to today. In a pre-recorded video, the actresses spoke about the kiss and how important it was 21 years ago when the film first opened in theaters. The duo safely re-created their iconic kiss from their 1999 classic Cruel Intentions, which won Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards 20 years earlier.
They were both presented with the Legendary Lip Lock Award at the ceremony, which honored some of the best moments in Movie & TV Awards history.
