Higher US interest rates was the driving force behind CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank (Bahamas) Limited’s (FCIB) “solid” first quarter results, the bank’s Managing Director Jacqui Bend said. For the quarter ending January 31, FCIB reported net income of $28.6 million, up $16.4 million from the $12.2 million registered during the same period a year ago.
