After several financial unknowns because of the COVID-19 pandemic and numerous budget amendments, City of Hopkinsville Chief Financial Officer Robert Martin said he was happy fiscal year 2020-2021 ended well.
Martin made the comment when he presented his end of the fiscal year financial report to Hopkinsville City Council Tuesday night and said the city did end with a positive year.
Martin said the city ended the fiscal year with an available cash balance of $12.1 million in available cash. He noted the payroll tax came in under budget but collections in the last two months of the fiscal year pushed the city over the prior year’s collections.
