Search warrant in Beloit turns up guns and drugs

July 9, 2021 Three people are under arrest on gun and drug charges following and ongoing investigation by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit. According to a news release, a search warrant was executed on a home on the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue in the City of Beloit just after 9:00 Thursday morning. During the search, sheriff’s deputies found more than 17 pounds of marijuana, more than 150 grams of cocaine, five guns – one of which was stolen, and more than $18,000 in cash. 20-year-old Alijawon J. Brown and 21-year-old Bertha Betancourt were arrested on suspicion of maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and cocaine, child neglect, and receiving stolen property.

Rock County authorities seized five guns, thousands of dollars in cash, and an estimated $82,000 in drugs Thursday morning while executing a search warrant on a Beloit residence. Authorities executed the search warrant in the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue around 9:15 a.m. Thursday. During their search authorities found 16.76 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $67,000, 151 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $15,000, five guns one of which was stolen and roughly $18,500 in cash. Three people were arrested following the search. Alijawon J. Brown, 20, was arrested for a probation violation, felon in possession of a firearm, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to distribute THC 2,500 – 10,000 grams, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, child neglect, and receiving stolen property.
