Different outlooks when it comes to the soon to be end of the presidency of donald trump. On one side theres the president s supporters, angry at the results of the National Vote count, convinced they were robbed and cheated. They demonstrated here in washington today. Then theres the president himself, publicly sigh lent, mostly out of sight today, slowing down only to wave at the pro trump protesters as they shouted in the streets. All of this happening at the same time as two major developments. The president s own officials declaring the election, quote, the most secure in american history. That comes from his department of homeland security. And an alarming spike in the deadly pandemic, 12 Straight Days now of more than 100,000 new coronavirus infections. Racing california, racing to california. Maybe they think this campaign is not quite over. Joining the panel this week wall street journal columnist and Deputy Editor dan henninger, jason ray reilly, James Freeman and washington columnist kim strasso. Kim, the race is close. Why is Hillary Clinton having such a hard time closing the deal . I would say three things, paul. Shes got a cloud over her head, given this ethics issue and the server problem. The Inspector General report that came out. Two, shes got an enthusiasm problem. People are flocking to Bernie Sanders and you see them running into the race. Finally shes got a trust problem. Voters dont necessarily think they can believe what she has to say. Those things are combining to give him a boost at the end of the race. This is a fascinating thing. 1. 5 million new voters registered in california since january. Something like 600,000 in the last 45 days, the bulk are democrats. Are they sanders voters . Many of them young voters.
