The city has issued a boil water order for almost 700 homes and businesses in Champlain Heights. A watermain break in the area prompted advice from the Department of Health for Saint John Water to impose the order. It impacts some residents on Bayside Drive, Grandview Avenue and Old Black River Road, along with all of Champlain Heights and the McAllister Industrial Park. Residents must boil water from the tap for at least one minute and let it cool before consuming it or use bottled water. Water that has been boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, juice, coffee or tea, or washing vegetables that will be eaten raw.
