Randall Porter I m very excited to give the checks out, President of the Alabama NAACP, Bernard Simelton, said. We re just elated that people took the time to go and get their vaccinations.
Around 450 people entered the contest in hopes of securing a check. Contestants had to be between the ages of 18-40 to enter the drawing. Organizers were hoping to increase vaccine rates among millennials and GenZs..
Simelton explains, We are going all that we can do to make sure that people get vaccinated.
