COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team faced Akron for a second time this season. The scores from this event are submitted as a qualification score for the national championship held in March. The Buckeyes came out on top by shooting an Open score of 6,728 compared to the Zips’ 5,866 tally. In the women’s only competition, Ohio State scored a 3,214.

School records were broken left and right. As a team, the Buckeyes’ 6,728 overall Open total is the highest in OSU history. The Open Standard team of Katelyn Abeln, Jack Leverett, Henry Leverett and Bernard Melus set a new all-time mark of 2,211. The women’s air team – Katelyn Abeln, Amanda Ackerman and Maria Tsarik – broke the program’s record with a score of 1,643.
