Former chairman of JetBlue s Silicon Valley estate on sale for $49M

The 11.5-acre Woodside estate owned by former Jetblue Chairman Joel Peterson recently came to market asking $49 million. The property includes two main residences, three guest homes, a tennis pavilion, a multipurpose finished barn, a soccer field, tennis court, pool and kids playground fort.
The centerpiece of the property is a reimagined Bernard Maybeck home that was built on the site a century ago but had fallen into disrepair. The other main home is a modernized ranch home with five bedrooms and five bathrooms in about 5,100 square feet. It also has a three-car garage and a heated pool overlooking the 272-acre Horse Park at Woodside. Throughout the estate there are a grand total of 12 bedrooms and 14.5 baths in 19,000 square feet of interior space.

The career of San Francisco architect Henry Gutterson spans the first half of the 20th Century. Beginning in 1905, when he graduated from the School of Architecture at the University of California Berkeley to his death in 1954, Gutterson s 50-year career most closely relates to the Beaux-Arts, Bay Area Arts and Crafts, and Academic Eclecticism periods.
