A music school in one of Melbourne s wealthiest suburbs is embroiled in a 17-month court battle with its sacked chief executive after she refused to stop calling herself the boss and holding meetings.
The fight between the Australian Guild of Music Education and its former chief Bernadette Norton this week reached the Federal Court after the school first filed suit against her in December 2019.
The guild is a not-for-profit music and speech school in ritzy Kooyong that provides tertiary degrees at an average of A$17,000 a year, certificates and diplomas.

POTTSTOWN, Pa. - Authorities say an early morning fire in an eastern Pennsylvania home that killed a man and a teenager has also claimed the life of a woman.
The Lehigh County coroner s office said 47-year-old Bernadette Norton of Pottstown was pronounced dead just before 4:30 p.m. Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Officials earlier said 48-year-old Joseph Norton and a 14-year-old youth were pronounced dead after the 2:30 a.m. Monday blaze.
Chief Frank Hand of the Pottstown fire department said the three victims were father, mother and son. Hand said the cause of the smoky blaze hadn t yet been determined but it appeared to have been accidental.

She was identified by the Lehigh County Coroner s office as Bernadette Norton, 47, and was a counselor at Lauer s Park Elementary School in Reading, the school district announced Tuesday afternoon.
Also killed in the early morning fire in a twin home at 7 East Fifth St. were Joseph Norton, 48, and a 14-year-old boy.

Pottstown Fire Chief Frank Hand said the three victims were father, mother and son.
Joseph Norton, 48, died of smoke and soot inhalation, according to the results of an autopsy performed by the Montgomery County Coroner s office.
