Tesla has changed its original plans and will no longer produce the 4680 battery cells for electric cars made in Giga-Berlin. The manufacturing team is moving to Austin, Texas; here we will discuss some of the alleged reasons behind this difficult decision.
The best-selling car in Germany in September 2022 was the Tesla Model Y; a headline that actually hides some half-truths, as Tesla usually accumulates deliveries in the last quarter of the year. A fire declared in the recycling section of the Tesla Gigafactory forced firefighters to work hard on its extinction. Although there were – luckily - no personal injuries or damages of great material value, several civil associations from the Brandenburg area are calling for a plant shutdown.
Euro NCAP has just published the safety test results of several new models, most notably the Tesla Model Y, with its - almost perfect - 5 stars: 97% for adult occupant (driver) protection and 98% for automatic safety assistance systems.
