SPRINGFIELD Residents have another reason to visit Forest Park on Tuesdays and it’s not just for the beautiful landscaping and walking trails.
The Farmer’s Market at Forest Park is now open from 12:30 until 6 p.m. every Tuesday through October, offering produce, kettle corn and more.
Visitors can find gourmet mushrooms at the booth of From the Source Fungi, owned by Ezra Wool of Springfield. Wool lives near Forest Park and grows various types of mushrooms in the basement of his home.
Red Fire Farm of Granby is a staple at the market and this year they are offering a variety of hot pepper plants including the Carolina Reaper, often called the world’s hottest pepper.
