The project has been successfully completed despite having the disruption of a global pandemic. “We have seen a lot of change in recent years, through the development of new communities and we are committed to ensuring we build the right infrastructure in the right places. The council is investing £1billion in new schools, community and leisure facilities, parks and open spaces and roads to ensure our new communities have what they need to thrive. This final phase of the Winnersh Relief Road is a key piece of the puzzle to help relieve the congestion we have at the Winnersh Sainsbury’s crossroads.”

The £6.8million expansion works began on the car park, Winnersh Triangle Station, Winnersh, last week on April 22. The Wokingham Borough Council said that during the construction period parking spaces will be reduced, however once completed the site will hold a total of 491 spaces - this is 100 more car spaces than before. Andy Glencross, assistant director for highways, said: “These works will both improve the visual appeal of the area and provide additional capacity to allow even more residents to make use of the nearby transport links available.
A322 works have been taking place for a number of years ALMOST half-a-million pounds will go towards making a busy road near the town centre quicker to pass through after transport chiefs nodded through new funding plans. Work on the A322/A329 corridor has been taking place for the past five years in order to improve traffic flow and journey times along Downshire Way, a highway that gets congested during peak periods. The Berkshire Local Transport Body has already funnelled £400,000 from a special government funding pot towards the scheme and yesterday agreed to direct an extra £450,000 to the project. It is claimed further enhancements to the scheme could provide ‘additional capacity improvements in peak hours’, meaning cars will be able to travel through this part of Bracknell quicker.
