These reference values are not specified in the body of the Treaty. Instead, they are defined in an annexed Protocol. The expression “reference values” is used six times when defining the two criteria to be used by the European Commission when monitoring developments of public finances, with a view to identifying “gross errors” in the conduct of fiscal policy. SKOPJE (North Macedonia), May 19 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia should prioritise resolving the health crisis in the near term through actions that will help revive growth, spur job creation and protect the vulnerable, the International Monetary Fund said on Wednesday.
Based on the government s current support measures, including the wage subsidy, investment incentives, and liquidity support to firms, the IMG projects fiscal deficit equivalent to 5.4% of GDP in 2021, the IMF said in a statement. The statement was issued after the end of the virtual discussions between an IMF team and North Macedonia s authorities held during May 6-17 that were focused on recent economic developments and policies.
