Stephanie Alvarez’s mother had one request after learning her daughter would be receiving a COVID-19 vaccination Friday: take a picture so she can print and save it.
The registered nurse at North Bergen’s Palisades Medical Center was among the first to get the shot within Hudson County as the hospital administered the Pfizer vaccine Friday, just nine months after first bearing witness to the devastation of the virus.
Alvarez teared up as she said she wished she could give her past self a reassuring pat on the back, promising this day would come.
