4 Cassville wrestlers to compete for state glory Tuesday
The Cassville girls wrestling team is searching for individual and team glory on Tuesday, as four girls will compete in the State Championships at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.
A total of 92 schools will have wrestlers on the mats, and as a team, Cassville has the opportunity to score well with four participants.
Lebanon has the most competing with eight, and Lafayette and Holt are each bringing five. Beyond that, Cassville, Liberty North, Marshfield, St. Charles, St. Clair, Staley and Washington will put up four participants each.
Annie Moore, who took first place at 112 pounds in the sectional tournament, will open the Championships with a first-round bye. Moore, a sophomore with a 31-1 record, will face the winner of Waynesvilles Josie Moody and Jefferson Citys Makayla Wallenmeyer in the quarterfinal round.
