WA Premier Mark McGowan says the state has recorded no new locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 on the second day of a three-day snap lockdown.
Mr McGowan told a media conference this afternoon one positive COVID case had been detected in hotel quarantine. We have recorded one additional case in hotel quarantine, which is a returning resident who has travelled back from India, he said.
He said a man in his 40s was confirmed to be infected with coronavirus yesterday. Late yesterday afternoon, Western Australia Health advised the public that one new COVID-19 case had been recorded in the community, Mr McGowan said.

Western Australia has reported no new community cases of coronavirus on day two of a snap lockdown for Perth and the Peel region, as the premier, Mark McGowan, blamed the federal government for allowing too many Australians to travel overseas to attend âweddingsâ and âathletics meetsâ during the pandemic.
âI donât get why that should be allowed,â the premier said on Sunday.
McGowan announced there had been no new locally acquired cases but said there was one additional case in hotel quarantine. They were a âreturning resident who has travelled back from Indiaâ.
