Williams College’s annual I/O Fest, “The Music of Now,” ranges from improvisations performed in the moment to pivotal avant-garde works rediscovered from years gone by plus some Medieval music
Over the course of two days of performances, single audience members were blindfolded and led into the titular room where the twenty-five minute work unfolded. Sounds swirled around the listener, who gave themself over to the experience while the duo created a virtuosic sonic performance, an environment where all the senses were heightened.
Yarn/Wire is hosting its seventh annual International Institute, an incubator for sonic collaborations between performers, ensembles, composers, and creators, serving as an ecosystem for emerging and world-class artists to collectively push the boundaries of music, performance and sound.
