york city newsroom. reporter: you talked about that helicopter that could not get in, that s because the winds are so high. that gives you an indication of what those skiers were going through riding up that chair lift. they have, by the way, gotten that injured skier down i off the mountain, they are now taking that person to a nearby hospital that s about 45 miles away. the lift in question is called the spillway east. it s a two-person chair lift. we just got brand new pictures of what the scene looks like. take a look at that. and you said that eyewitness account, let me just expand on that. the lift was going up and, again, we re talking about 30-plus-mile-per-hour winds. anybody who has been on a ski lift knows what it feels like when that lift starts to sway from be side to side and you re moving slowly up the mountain. the two-person lifts are the oldest on the mountain, the newer ones are the triple chairs and the quad chairs. the eyewitness says the lift was going
