While everybody coped with the onset of the pandemic differently, from baking to home improvement projects to knitting and everything in between, it’s no secret that many people turned to books to escape lockdown boredom and stress.
With library buildings closed to the public because of coronavirus, many readers sought digital titles on Libby, an app run by Overdrive that allows library patrons to check out ebooks and digital audio books.

Megan Fischer, the Bee Cave technical services librarian, said Libby has increased in popularity among library patrons since the pandemic started, with a 7% increase in Overdrive users and an 18% increase in digital checkouts.
