Lompoc man sentenced in deadly Harris Grade DUI crash

Dozens of family members of a Lompoc man killed in a DUI crash last year were in court Monday for sentencing of the man responsible.
The Santa Barbara County District Attorneyâs Office says Isaac DeLuna was given a four-year state prison sentence for the charge of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated following the Aug. 22, 2020 crash.
The California Highway Patrol says the now 21-year-old lost control of his car and crossed into oncoming traffic on Harris Grade Road south of Burton Mesa Boulevard., crashing into another vehicle driven by Benjamin Romayor, 68, of Lompoc.

Authorities are seeking information on a possible witness to a fatal crash near Lompoc earlier this year.
The crash happened Saturday, Aug. 22, shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Harris Grade Road south of Burton Mesa Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Isaac DeLuna of Lompoc was heading southbound on Harris Grade Road when he lost control of his car and crossed into oncoming traffic.
DeLuna collided with an oncoming vehicle, driven by Benjamin Romayor, 68, of Lompoc, according to CHP.
Romayor died from his injuries.
THe Santa Barbara County District Attorneyâs Office says in reviewing bodycamera footage from a sheriffâs deputy, itâs believed a witness to the crash may have been on scene prior to first responders ad spoken with the suspect.
