Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was optimistic that the NDPP-BJP alliance will win around 45-50 seats while the other national political parties contesting the state polls will vanish after election like migratory birds.
Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): President of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Chingwang Konyak, stated that the 2018 pre-poll alliance with the BJP has proven to be “successful” as it has delivered a “stable government” till date, and expressed confidence that the alliance would be strengthened further in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections. He was speaking during a meeting at Town Hall, Peren on Nov. 5 as part of his presidential tour of the region. The two MLAs representing Peren district, T R Zeliang and Namri Nchang, and a host of central office bearers, office bearers of Peren region and members from the two assembly constituencies under Peren district attended the meeting. Konyak stated this during the inauguration of NDPP Phek region new office building in Phek town on October 27. He encouraged the party leaders and workers in all the five assembly constituencies under NDPP Phek region to have better coordination and understanding to strengthen the party as a whole. Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): The president of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Chingwang Konyak, along with senior central NDPP leaders visited Zunheboto town on October 19 and held meeting at the residence of NDPP Zunheboto region president in presence of Agriculture minister, G Kaito Aye, and MLA Picto Shohe. An update from NDPP stated that party delegates from the NDPP 31-Akuluto AC; 32-Atoizu AC; 33-Suruhuto AC, 34-Aghunato AC, 35-Zunheboto AC and 36-Satakha AC also attended the meeting. Konyak, in his address, explained in detail the stand of the NDPP regarding the Indo-Naga problem. He said the present NDPP-led government was playing an active role of a facilitator to arriving at an honourable solution acceptable to one and all.
