Foundation opens grant applications for teachers
The Cal Coast Cares Foundation has opened its application period for 2021 Educator Grants to help local teachers with classroom projects. This year, the foundation will award $40,000 in grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 per teacher. Applications are being accepted until Aug. 16 and can be completed at calcoastcu.org. The Educator Grants are provided to teachers in K-12 public, private or charter schools, and community and state colleges/universities in San Diego or Riverside counties with funds to support special classroom projects related to any of the STREAM fields (science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and math).

Lina Korea CEO Cho Jee-eunLina Korea s new CEO Cho Jee-eun took office on Thursday as the leader of the Korean unit of the U.S.-based life insurer.
Cho served as the former chief operating officer of the company before taking up the post by succeeding Benjamin Hong who led the firm for a decade. Cho has been recognized for her strong communication skills and leadership, and Lina s U.S. headquarters identified her as the most qualified person for the position at a time when Korea s insurance industry is faced with mounting challenges, an official from the company said.
