The result was a massive, six-vehicle car crash that Chen caused. You can see a video of the April 7, 2020 crash and the bonkers aftermath at the bottom of the page. The second video is a walkaround of the car after the crash, showing the full extent of the damage. Chen was arrested for reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs and would spend the next hours in custody, sobering up.
On Monday, the case against him was dropped because there was not enough evidence to pursue it, Road And Track reports.
It all started at an intersection in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. Chen was at the wheel of his heavily modified Porsche Carrera GT, the Gemballa Mirage GT, which he’d bought in 2014 and then further modified. Only 25 such examples exist 24 now, since Chen totaled his. He came speeding through the intersection and smashed into the back of a parked Toyota Sienna.

Guy Who Crashed Gemballa Porsche In NYC Has Charges Dismissed: Report ++ Videos and photos of the incident apparently weren t enough.
You may recall a very publicized incident that occurred nearly a year ago on the then-empty streets of New York City. A rare Gemballa Mirage GT was captured on video crashing into several vehicles before finally coming to a stop. Video even captured the driver behind the wheel, who was later identified as Benjamin Chen. Now, charges against Chen for the incident have apparently been dismissed.
According to
Road & Track, the case against Chen was dismissed on March 15 in an appearance at the New York Criminal Court. The reason for dismissal was apparently a lack of proof –
Chen initially lost control of the modified Porsche Carrera GT on 11th Avenue and slammed into a parked Subaru Crosstrek and Toyota Sienna. This impact destroyed the front of the supercar, and yet, Chen kept on driving. Video showed him speeding down the street, running at least one red light, before losing control yet again and hitting three more parked cars. When the car finally ground to a halt and police responded, one officer could be heard on video saying Chen was “hammered.”
Chen has a history of crashing expensive exotics and has previously destroyed both a McLaren MP4C-12C and a Lamborghini Murcielago SV. It remains unclear if the Mirage GT has been repaired or deemed a write-off.
