SPOKANE, Wash. With things sort of returning to normal, it’s easy to forget that we’re still in the middle of a pandemic.
We know the real key to getting back to where we left off is getting enough people vaccinated. If you’re on the fence, these stories from an ICU doctor may change your mind. He says it’s changed his life in more ways than he could have ever imagined.
“I don’t think any of us are going to walk out the other side the same person as we were in 2019,” said Dr. Benjamin Arthurs of MultiCare.

While many have already stepped up, others are still hesitant or simply just don’t want it.
People have different reasons for not wanting to get vaccinated. They can range from fear, religious views, to simply feeling like it’s not necessary. Medical experts said that’s why having an open conversation is so important.
“I’ve lost so many friends because we have different beliefs,” said Linda Harris.
For some people, like Harris, getting vaccinated is a personal decision.
“I don’t talk to people about any of this stuff,” she said.
With vaccine distribution being on everyone’s radar, it’s hard to avoid the million dollar question
COVID long-haulers: The lingering sickness with no expiration date

SPOKANE, Wash. We know COVID-19 impacts people in different ways.
Some may not even feel like they are infected, while others spend weeks in the hospital or possibly even die from the virus.
Then there are COVID “long-haulers” those who are supposedly recovered, but still suffering months after their infection.
It is a silent suffering. You think you have recovered from the worst of COVID-19, just to find out your battle with this virus is only getting started.
“We may be dealing with a group of patients who has more long-term effects, not just three months, but a year or five years or indefinite effects,” said Dr. Aaron Bunnell of UW Medicine.
