Authorities are investigating a fatality from a RV Trailer fire in Terrebonne early this morning (Monday). Redmond firefighters were called to 686 NE Wilcox Avenue shortly after midnight. They found a thirty-foot RV trailer fully involved in flames and threatening nearby structures. Firefighters protected exposures and extinguished the fire. Firefighters confirmed one person had perished in the fire. The cause is under investigation. The trailer was being used as a full-time residence.

Hiker Rescued Near Benham Falls
A hiker was rescued after injuring himself slipping on ice near the edge of the river at Benham Falls Sunday. Philip Wolfkill, 41, from Ocala, Florida called 911 to report he couldn’t walk and needed assistance. Thankfully, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue K9 unit was training in the immediate area at the time of the call and began to work quickly on Wolfkill.
“These volunteers arrived within 30 minutes of the initial call along with one Sunriver Police Department Officer who hiked in from the East side of the river.” DCSO stated. “These volunteers began to work immediately on patient care as well as extrication plans while five additional volunteers and one Special Services Deputy responded with required rescue equipment.”

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – A hiker from Florida slipped on some ice near Benham Falls, was injured and called for help Sunday morning, bringing Deschutes County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and other first responders to his aid, deputies said.
Dispatchers got a call around 9:50 a.m. from the injured 41-year-old man at Benham Falls Trailhead, said Deputy Kyle Joye, assistant SAR coordinator. The man had slipped on some ice near the edge of the Deschutes River and could not walk any further due to his injuries.
