with presides secretary josh e n earnest calling the comments disappointing. joining us, co-founder of the dream action coalition. great seeing you. thank you so much for having me. you re a dreamer so what s your reaction to speaker ryan talking about immigration and comprehensive immigration being out until obama s out of office? i definitely agree with the white house. it is disappointing that a leader of congress who represents the entire people, not just one state, would actually say that. an issue of such importance as immigration will not be dealt with. this is something that s urgent. we have a broken immigration system that no longer serves our economy and really doesn t serve the community, doesn t serve latinos, doesn t serve the country as the way it should be. it is very disappointing. i think that s why the senator bernie sanders will actually commit to taking executive action because i think most important we need to see
with the campaign this morning. it s a bit of a mixed bag for hillary clinton this morning. reporter: it is a mixed back. our latest poll shows she s increasing her lead over her top opponent bernie sanders. it s not all good news. she still struggles with the general electorate. 53% of registered voters give her poor marks for being honest and straight forward wonl 27% giving her high marks. these numbers are significant because they underscore that voter perception is still an issue for clinton, even after that first debate, the benghazi hearing and biden s decision not to get into the race. she s releasing this new ad, it focuses on gun safety. it comes after she met last
because they underscore the voter perception is still an issue for clinton even after that first debate, the benghazi hearing, and biden s decision not to get into the race. this morning, secretary clinton released this new ad here in iowa and new hampshire. it focuses on gun safety and it comes after clinton met last night in chicago with mothers and family members of african-american men and boys who were mostly killed during interactions with law enforcement. among those at the meeting, the mothers of trayvon martin, michael brown and tamir rice. now this issue of gun violence and also the black lives matter movement increasingly pressing issues in this democratic primary. clinton aides tell me she will focus on that here later today. by the way, she s campaigning in an area that very heavily favors vermont senator bernie sanders, so she s trying to dip in to some of his support here as she continues to surge in this democratic primary. jose, back to you. kristin welker, thank you
bellweth bellwether. it is one of the states that both parties always fight over because it is seen in the middle. so goes ohio, so goes the nation, it is said. we have our affiliate who talked to a couple of people on both sides of the issue out there getting ready for today s vote. let s take a listen. people who have been placed in jail for marijuana offenses i would vote for it. i came from inner city and i saw the devastation of the drugs and stuff so i would be highly against something like that. i have no problem with the marijuana. i just think that it s wrong to create a monopoly in the state. you hear there the issue both being about weather pot should be used and how they are doing it because they are setting up under this rule in ohio a potential monopoly. that s the question mark, what will ohio do today. this breakdown from the national conference of state legislators gives conflicting opinions. the obama administration under
restore representative power to congress. because as we restore that power to the people, we, the people that means every man, woman and child in this country will have greater opportunities to fulfill their version of the american dream. first, let me just say that i am humbled, honored, eager and excited to be here with this fantastic leadership team in this role. thursday was a great day. thursday was a day where we came together as a conference and unified and agreed to proceed together with a vision. this week you will see the highway bill is a good place to start. we re opening up the process. we re allowing members to participate in a way that the founders intended, and we re advancing an issue that is a big priority to the hard working taxpayers of this country, fixing our roads and our
