Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched Kere Mitra and Hasiru Mitra initiatives to involve citizens in the upkeep of parks and lakes in Bengaluru. Interested individuals can register as volunteers on the BBMP s website. The initiative aims to improve cleanliness, prevent encroachments, and promote the development of these areas.
The study conducted by researchers from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, Rajasthan also shows that the concentration of PM 2.5 in the above three areas exceeded World Health Organisation’s (WHO) standards on multiple occasions.
