Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 23 (ANI): The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch has arrested two people in connection with black marketing of Oxygen cylinders in the Sheshadripuram and Byatarayanpura areas of the city.
The Joint Commissioner of Police of Bengaluru City Police Sandeep Patil took to Twitter to inform about the same. Two accused arrested by Central Crime Branch in Sheshadripuram and Byatarayanpura involved in black marketing of Oxygen cylinders, Patil tweeted.
He further informed that five cylinders have been seized from the accused.
Patil also urged people to share information with the police regarding such activities.

The names of the accused are Manjunath, Rajkumar, Anil Kumar, said Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime.
Earlier, several cases of black marketing have been registered in different parts of the country including Delhi, Madhya Pradesh
Meanwhile, India welcomed 1,200 oxygen cylinders from the British Oxygen Company that arrived from the UK on Thursday as part of COVID assistance to help deal with the record rise in virus cases that has put a strain on the healthcare infrastructure of the country. (ANI)

Bengaluru, May 11 : Finally after several people complained about a bed shortage in hospitals, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Tuesday directed hospital authorities to take steps to vacate all those patients who are staying in hospitals beyond 20-days.
These directions came after his visit to the Bengaluru West division Covid war room in Malleshwaram here, Yediyurappa said that he had come to know from war room data that about 835 patients were occupying beds beyond 20 days in the West division of Bengaluru.

36-year old man arrested in Bengaluru for selling oxygen in black
The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch police have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with black marketing of medical oxygen at 10 times higher the rate fixed by the government.
According to the police, the arrested person has been identified as Ravi Kumar, working as a manager at Siga Gasses Private Limited in Peenya.
The medical oxygen suppliers list of the Drugs Control Department of Karnataka shows that this company has two plants - one in Peenya industrial township and another in Bommasanadra industrial township.
According to this data, Ravi Kumar is in charge of both the plants, while one Devaraj has been named as the managing director of these plants.
