The online benefits checker has been launched by the Department for Work and Pensions as a tool to help people understand what benefits and support packages they can claim. While there s over six million people in Britain currently claiming Universal Credit, it s believed thousands more are entitled to the cash but haven t been claiming it because they don t realise they re eligible.

These are Child Tax Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and Working Tax Credit.
