One boy has to sell his brother to the smugglers, another leaves his sister behind. DER SPIEGEL has spent months documenting the fates of four unaccompanied minors from the Moria camp on Lesbos. Not all of them make it to Germany.

There s no real beginning to this story. It could start in Iran, where a boy lived who left his brother work of a debt smuggler so he could get to Europe. Or in a room of the European Council building in Brussels, where, away from the meetings, like-minded people came together and made plans that ultimately were not approved.

ATHENS, March 13 Hundreds of rare items dating to the 1821 Greek revolution go on virtual display in Athens this month, with bicentenary events scaled back because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A new museum dedicated to the Philhellene foreign volunteers who fought and died for Greece will be inaugurated in April, featuring contemporary paintings, weapons, ornaments and personal items of the fighters, among them celebrated 19th century poet Lord Byron.
The Australian Ambassador to Greece, His Excellency, Arthur Spyrou, is a senior career officer with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and has been serving as Australia’s Ambassador to Greece, Bulgaria and Romania since December 2019.
Prior to this he held various high profile roles, including a posting as Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates just prior to this role. A career diplomat, he holds a Master of Arts (Foreign Affairs and Trade) from Monash University; Bachelor of Laws, Sydney University/Utrecht University; and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Sydney University. He spoke of his experience and goals in his role.
