The Rebels used a complete-game, one-hit shutout from Doug Nikhazy and a 17-hit deluge from the offense in a 9-0 victory.  Nikhazy was brilliant from start to finish, going a full nine innings with no runs allowed on just one hit and two walks. The left-hander from Windermere, Florida, struck out 12 along the way to tie a career-high. Nikhazy didn’t allow his lone hit until the fifth inning and, at one point, retired 11 straight Bulldog batters.

LA Tech picks up another big upset, downs No 4 Ole Miss

RUSTON, La. — In No. 4 Ole Miss baseball s first true road matchup of the 2021 season, little went the Rebels way as they dropped their first midweek matchup 13-1 against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Tuesday evening. Josh Mallitz (1-1) went four innings on the mound and gave up four hits and three runs, all of which occurred in the first inning. Offensively, the Rebels tallied six hits while stranding nine on base. Kevin Graham managed to get a third of them, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. Despite four other Rebels recording a hit, they were victimized throughout the night by Cade Gibson on the mound, who in allowed just one run on five hits over 7.1 innings pitched.

Freshman Josh Mallitz went four innings and fanned six to earn his first career win. Four relievers Luke Baker, Cody Adcock, Brandon Johnson, and Wes Burton struck out two each in one inning of work apiece. Hayden Dunhurst scored three runs as he walked four times and was hit by a pitch.
