HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) A Houston man has been charged after a car crash Tuesday left his two small children, who were not in car seats, hospitalized.
Forrest Burgess, 25, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member and felon in possession of a weapon.
Houston police say Burgess and his 1-and-3-year-old children are still in the hospital.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of S. Braeswood near S. Rice.
UPDATE: The suspect driver, Forrest Burgess, 25, is now charged with aggravated assault of a family member and felon in possession of a weapon.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) A man is dead after a series of accidents led to him being struck by a Harris County Precinct 4 deputy overnight.
Houston Police Assistant Chief Ben Tien said the victim was believed to be traveling in the westbound lanes of US-290 near Tidwell around 2 a.m., and tried to change lanes, but ended up hitting another car.
The victim s car then spun out of control and was struck by a third car, according to Tien.

Houston Police and Harris County Sheriff s Office are investigating two separate shootings that left one man dead.
HOUSTON - Authorities are investigating 2 separate shootings that took place early Christmas morning. It’s sad that it had to happen like this on Christmas Day, said Andrea Laberne.
According to Laberne, Harris County deputies shot and killed her sister’s ex-fiancé at an apartment off Aldine Bender Road.
A lieutenant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says the 31-year-old man had a warrant for his arrest and had been making terroristic threats.
