The Trump administration enacted Migrant Protection Protocols in January 2019, which forced asylum-seekers to await immigration hearings in Mexico. In March 2020, under a Centers for Disease Control health initiative to curtail the spread of COVID-19 into the United States, Trump closed all U.S. borders under a policy known as Title 42. The effect was a drastic drop in the number of people attempting to cross from Mexico into the United States.

Hundreds protest hotel turned migrant holding facility in Scottsdale

View Comments Hundreds of people waving American flags gathered to protest the federal government s immigration policy in front of a hotel in central Scottsdale that is now operating as a short-term migrant holding facility for families seeking asylum.  The former Homewood Suites hotel at Scottsdale and Mountain View roads, which is owned by real estate investment trust Woodbridge Hospitality, has signed an agreement with Endeavors, a nonprofit contracted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. According to the agreement, Endeavors will manage the property until Sept. 30.  Endeavors spokesperson Ben Miranda said the facility will house families who will stay at the property for no more than 72 hours. The nonprofit will connect the migrants with sponsors in the U.S. and provide them with transportation to the bus station or airport so they can reach their final destination, he said.

Several liberal groups are urging senate dems to launch a formal investigation. they said five topics kavanaugh addressed with judiciary panel senators this week reveal inconsistents with statements he made during confirmation hearings for his current appellate court positions that rise to the level of perjury. those documents dems say were stolen by a republican during the judicial nomination process which were then passed on to kavanaugh, and if you were watching, patrick leahy asked the judge to defend his objections. this is not unlike the russians did in hacking the dnc. during this, you worked hand in hand in the white house with ben
