That’s why the fire department is teaming up with Lee County Emergency Management to prepare everyone for hurricane season via a seminar at the Pine Island United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 8, at 5:30 p.m. Mickuleit said he expects a good turnout for the seminar. He said over the years, there have been 100-plus attendees for the PowerPoint presentation, which will cover a number hurricane preparedness topics, such as what to have in your ready-kit, prescription refills, pet planning, flood zones and shelter locations.
