Oliver created the campaign to mark a huge milestone for the British paper, which was founded in 1821. Each film is dedicated to a different topic, all of which tie into the Guardian’s editorial mission. Environment explores the ecological impact of humans on the future of the planet and its climate; Equality looks at civil rights and gender issues; and Stories looks back at major world events.
RoomFifty launches YUC, an art competition supporting young and emerging creatives
Through the annual Young Upstart Competition, the contemporary art platform invites young creatives to submit a piece of work in front of a top-line jury. Winners will be announced on 17 February.

RoomFifty – a place that sells affordable, contemporary art from artists around the world – has launched its first annual Young Upstart Competition (YUC), a free competition aimed at emerging creatives. Running from 27 January to 10 February this year, RoomFifty invites all young creatives who are not already working full-time in a creative role to submit a piece of work in front of a top-line jury. The competition is aimed at anyone over the age of 18, from all corners of the globe.
