Local Democratic clubs urge voters to participate in the upcoming presidential primary on April 2, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement despite the presumptive nominees already being decided. The clubs highlight concerns over democracy, voting rights, and the future impact of the election on civil liberties. While the primary won t determine the final candidates, it serves as preparation for the general election in November.
The Unity Democratic Club seems to be set heading into primary season later this year. That is except for one important race. That is the state Assembly seat long held by Jeffrey Dinowitz.
To the Editor:
I first met Judy McGowan in the mid-seventies. It’s hard to believe we were friends for over 45 years. Her recent passing was not only a tremendous loss for her family and friends, but it was a huge loss for our community and beyond.
