joining me live from capitol hill is fox senior correspondent chad pergram. chad anything surprise you? we expected it to pass but by this margin? pete, it was a robust vote for a bill that no one liked, a bipartisan coalition from both parties supported the bill, but more democrats supported the bill than gop members. 149 republicans voted yes, 165 democrats voted yes. house minority leader hakeem jeffries touted democratic support for the bill. earlier today, 29 house republicans voted to default on our nation s debt and against an agreement that you negotiated, extreme maga republicans attempted to take control of the house floor. democrats took it back. the bill now goes to the senate. conservatives are criticizing the bill there. mike lee and rand paul want the senate to consider an alternative. rather than offering substantive solutions toss tackle the root causes of our fiscal woes, it appears to be a p paltive pill. it s a bad look for membering, an advocation
it is specific we have article 1 there a long list of powers, the longest article in the constitution it very specific. a long list. you it study it you will not find the power to conduct a criminal investigation. it violates separation of powers. congress is made up of politicians. congress was never set up to conduct criminal investigations any of sort or criminal investigations as part of a justice department, u.s. attorney s effort, to target an individual or group of individuals. so beyond the outrageous make-up of january 6 committees, entire enterprise of the january 6 committee is unconstitutional. in is not a single judge in washington, d.c. not one, who has reached that conclusion. yet this goes to the heart of our constitutional construct. you can t have joe biden making legislation by executive orders or congress investigating not for legislative purposes but criminal purposes and to set up individuals and violate the bill of rights, you cannot have the courts leg
