Br Ben named the February Cork Person of the Month

A man who has helped influence and shape the lives of countless young people over the past four decades has been honoured with the Cork Person of the Month award for February. Brother Ben Cusack was the popular principal of Sullivan s Quay CBS between 1981 and 2006 and founder of the Edmund Rice Youth Club, better known to thousands of young people as the Bro s Club after Br Ben. Realising the need to respond to the needs of young people outside of schools hours, Br Ben founded the Youth Club, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Although retired from teaching, he still devotes much of his spare time to the club, working with a dedicated team of volunteers to ensure its continuing success.
