Police: Caller threatened to blow up Bemidji Area Schools The threats have not been substantiated. Author: Google Streetview Bemidji police are investigating what it is calling an unsubstantiated threat to blow up schools in Bemidji.  According to Bemidji Police Department, someone in Ramsey County called the Beltrami County Dispatch Center around 7 a.m. Tuesday and said they were going to blow up Bemidji Area Schools and that they got bombs already set up in every Bemidji Area Public School available. The caller hung up, prompting Bemidji police, the Beltrami County Sheriff s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and the Minnesota Fusion Center to investigate who made the call – it was traced to Ramsey County – and if the threat was legitimate.

On Feb. 9, 2021, the city will hold a special election to determine who will hold the at-large seat through 2022. The seat was vacated in summer 2020 when Jim Thompson, who was elected in 2018, resigned because of health reasons.
