WASKISH TOWNSHIP The victim in a fatal hit-and-run on Memorial Day near Upper Red Lake has been identified as 58-year-old Shaun Allen O’Malley of Kelliher.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing, though law enforcement said, thanks to public tips, the driver of the other vehicle has been identified.

BEMIDJI Beltrami County has been reimbursed more than $170,522 for expenses related to Line 3 construction site law enforcement.
According to a press release from Beltrami County Sheriff Ernie Beitel, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Line 3 escrow account escrow is a legal arrangement in which a third party temporarily holds large sums of money or property until a particular condition has been met reimbursed Beltrami County for expenses incurred by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office for training deputies, purchasing equipment and other expenses related to mutual aid requests from neighboring law enforcement agencies in support of the Northern Lights Task Force.

BEMIDJI A man’s body was recovered from the icy waters of Lake Irving on Monday evening after a vehicle went through the ice on Sunday afternoon.

The vehicle’s owner has not been identified, nor is it clear if multiple occupants were in the vehicle when it fell through.
