The New South Wales government has encouraged residents of Belrose, Davidson and surrounding suburbs to be alert for COVID-19 symptoms as they try to discover the source of an infection currently unlinked to the Avalon cluster.
“There was a previously reported case … on December 23 and that person works at the Belrose Hotel in Belrose,” NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said.
“Belrose is in the Northern Beaches local government area; this case remains unlinked to the Avalon cluster at this time.
“Case investigations and further testing around this case indicates this person was likely to have an infection onset about two weeks ago.
“We know from testing around this individual that this individual to date has not transmitted infection to others but what we’re interested in is how this person acquired the infection because the person is not linked to the cluster.
“So we are asking residents of Belrose and Davidson and surround suburbs to be alert for symptoms
