Minnesota COVID ICU Patient Total Drops Below 200

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The number of Minnesotans hospitalized due to COVID-19 has dropped below 900 for the first time in almost two months.
After peaking a month ago, coronavirus-related hospitalizations have been steadily dropping in Minnesota and currently total 895. 196 of those patients are being treated in intensive care. It s the first time that number has been below 200 since November 3rd.
Yesterday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported another 61 coronavirus-related deaths throughout the state. 2 of the deaths involved residents of Olmsted County who were in their late 70s. There have now been 61 COVID deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic.
