2020 Belmont Park Circle Christmas trees a welcome sight

BELMONT — The challenges people have faced during 2020 have made community activities and celebrations difficult at times. But there are some traditions which can be upheld during this holiday time and this year, the Belmont village crew was able to uphold a tradition. The crew was able to prepare the evergreen trees in Park Circle with better weather than usual, and each were decorated by a sponsor for everyone to enjoy during the holiday season. The trees this year were purchased from the Belmont Fire Department. Mayor Ray DeTine supported this community activity, and crew members Chelsea Presutti Kubiak, Brian Fanton, and Scott Fenesse set the trees in position and provided electric lines for each tree.

GV, B-R shift to remote learning after positive COVID-19 tests

Staff reports BELMONT Two more Allegany County school districts shifted to remote learning Tuesday after learning of positive COVID-19 cases among the school community.  Genesee Valley moved all students to remote learning through Jan. 4 “due to a positive COVD case and the resulting number of faculty and staff that must quarantine.”  “We will continue to transport students to BOCES and special education placements,” stated the district. “If BOCES students need transportation, please contact Willie Weaver at 585-268-7920. Meals will be provided at the Angelica Village Offices at 11:30 and the Belmont Legion at 12. There are no sports during full remote instruction. The Fitness Center will continue to be open and require advance reservations.”
