JANETTE POLLITT

  Frances Janette Pollitt, 100, Belmond, died May 25, 2021 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A private family inurnment for Janette and her husband Frank will take place at a later date.   Janette, the daughter of James and Frances (Parkin) Fulton, was born Sept. 22, 1920 in Lucas County. She was the eldest of four children. Janette spent her early life on the family farm, helping with daily chores and looking after her younger siblings. She graduated from Derby High School in 1938 and then went on to Iowa Wesleyan College where she graduated with a two-year teaching certificate.   Janette started teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Lucas County. After deciding that perhaps teaching wasn’t for her, she resigned but was quickly persuaded by her cousin to join her in Humeston at the elementary school. She taught another four years at the third and fourth grade levels.

December 18 1953-December 26, 2020 Belmond, IA-Linda Walrod, 67, of Belmond, IA, died, unexpectedly, Saturday, December 26, 2020, at MercyOne Medical Center-Mason City, IA. Public Funeral services will be Friday, January 1, 2020, at 10:30 AM, at the Belmond United Methodist Church 1031 1st ST. S.E., Belmond. Pastor David Boogerd of the Belmond UCC Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Public Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Belmond United Methodist Church and from 930-1030 AM, Friday before her funeral services. Linda s funeral service will be live streamed on Andrews Funeral Home Facebook page at 1030 AM for those unable to attend in person, just like the page to view. Masks are required according to current guidelines.
