Kara Zupkus of Young America’s Foundation credits the watchdog group’s “Campus Bias Tip Line” for alerting the organization about the teacher who read “I am Jazz” to her class in the 12,000-student Bellingham School District. “I am Jazz” was co-written by transgender activist and celebrity Jazz Jennings, who is now a young adult. He was born male and named Jared by his parents but began transitioning to a female named “Jazz” at age 5.
