Parkrun is due to return to Southampton today with a new route after over a year of restrictions. At 9am today, the city s Parkrun event will return to the Common for the first time since it was forced to stop in March 2020 due to safety concerns. Following a successful application to the city council to ask for permission to use the site again, organisers have been planning how they will provide the popular event whilst keeping participants and everyone in the area safe. Due to worries around the transmission of Covid-19 whilst running, there is now due to be a brand new route on show for the first time at todays event.
