Bellator 176 and Bellator Kickboxing 5 Preview and Predictions
Bellator MMA continues its run through the month of April, heading to Torino, Italy, and the Pala Alpitour. This is a combined event between Bellator’s kickboxing and mixed martial arts properties.
The main event on the MMA side of the card will be a middleweight title rematch between the champion, Rafael Carvalho, and the challenger, Melvin Manhoef. The two fought to what could be described as a stalemate, despite Carvalho receiving the decision nod. It was a fight where almost nothing happened. With a shortage of challengers, the promotion has decided to go for a second fight between these two men.
His martial-arts career started in the late 1980s and continues to this day. His name is John Wayne Parr, and he is considered to be one of the most valuable players in this game.
The most important moment of the kickboxer’s career came on July 7, 2004. Parr competed in K-1 World Max Final in Tokyo. In the quarterfinal, he faced a young newcomer from Thailand known at the time as Buakaw Por. Pramuk this young man later came to be known as Buakaw Banchamek.
After three rounds, the judges scored the fight as a draw and sent the fight to a fourth round. Buakaw emerged as the winner via split decision and went on to destroy Kohiruimaki and Masato in the semifinal and final, respectively, to become the first K-1 champion from Thailand.
On Saturday, Dec. 19, GLORY Kickboxing hosted its first event since filing for bankruptcy and finding new ownership. The event, GLORY 76, took place from Rotterdam, Netherlands.
In the night’s main event, former heavyweight title challengers Badr Hari and Benjamin Adegbuyi each looked for a third shot at current champion Rico Verhoeven. Both men have twice fought the Dutchman and come short each time.
Gold was on the line in the welterweight division as Frenchman Cédric Doumbé put his belt on the line against former Bellator Kickboxing titlist Karim Ghajji.

The card kicked off with a preliminary card stream on Fite TV at 2 p.m. ET. The main card aired live above at 3 p.m. ET via Fite TV pay-per-view.
