The Bruins had a personal-best-laden Friday in Texas. For its third and final regular season meet of 2023, UCLA cross country traveled to College Station, Texas, for the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Friday.
The Bruins faced their first big test of the season Friday. After opening the season in nearby Torrance on Sept. 1, the UCLA cross country team traveled north to Eugene for the 2023 Bill Dellinger Invitational.
Another August marks another beginning of a cross country season for the Bruins. UCLA cross country began its season Thursday night at the LMU South Bay Twilight invitational.

Few athletics venues in the world are as synonymous with
the mile as Cooks Gardens in Whanganui, and Camille Buscomb
and Sam Tanner lived up to that rich tradition by claiming
the New Zealand Mile Championship titles on a historic night
of action at the Cooks Classic.
After a 52-year
absence, both national mile crowns were re-introduced with
the men’s race following the script as the gifted
20-year-old Tanner added the national title over the
‘classic distance’ to the New Zealand 3000m crown he
snared last weekend in Hastings.
