know the basics and the foundation, you know, of football, that s great, but yeah, everything we ve learned, willie, obviously scared the lot of parents, rightfully so and terrified a lot of medical providers and how many of our heroes that we had growing up in football have just suffered just torturous injuries and mental problems because of football. we just didn t have the language to describe what it was. again, we called it getting your bell rung and you go shake your head a little bit, and get back in the game. the good news as you say is flag football has exploded among young kids in this country. you can take away at a young age, all the things we loved about the sport, camaraderie and being with your buddies, and team work, and fair play and will all of those things at a young age, if you like the game enough. you get into high school, and put on a helmet and pads, and
continuing to change in the game, when the integrity of what you i think, fans like to see, the contact aspect of it, going to change? s it s a tough game. i think in andrew s case, i admire him. i admire that he made that decision. i think what the fans, the colt fans did, was flat wrong. the guy gave six hard years of his life, seven years of his life to the organization. he did everything he could come i back from injury 92017, missed an entire year, got into the playoffs a year ago. f for him, at the train going down a tunnel and there s no light at the end of it. when you are constantly having to rehabilitate yourself, it s tough. sean: listen, there s not a player that i know that doesn t iget their bell rung, herschel. i played ice hockey. asho you know, because you actually got in the octagon i m a huge mma fan, i get every paper view that they have you ve got in the octagon. that is a gladiator warrior sport. i am worried one of the

i think that those risks have been long over understated. you know, people thought, i got my bell rung, get back in and play. you still hear that. that s not the case. a concussion is not even the right word. it s a traumatic brain injury. if you start to look at it that way and say, you know, my child, whoever the person is just experienced a traumatic brain injury, that changes everything, the way you approach it, the way you treat it, how long you keep someone out of the game. are we ready to say, is it worth it? as a country, we have to ask the country. i think for the time being, these individual leagues and, obviously, the individual players really need to ask it for themselves, and in the case of the child, ask with your family. i m a parent, a 6-year-old son, and my husband and i have these discussions because it s you want them to have fun and have the full childhood experience, but there are safety is number one, a lot of decisions to be made around that.
