i think that those risks have been long over understated. you know, people thought, i got my bell rung, get back in and play. you still hear that. that s not the case. a concussion is not even the right word. it s a traumatic brain injury. if you start to look at it that way and say, you know, my child, whoever the person is just experienced a traumatic brain injury, that changes everything, the way you approach it, the way you treat it, how long you keep someone out of the game. are we ready to say, is it worth it? as a country, we have to ask the country. i think for the time being, these individual leagues and, obviously, the individual players really need to ask it for themselves, and in the case of the child, ask with your family. i m a parent, a 6-year-old son, and my husband and i have these discussions because it s you want them to have fun and have the full childhood experience, but there are safety is number one, a lot of decisions to be made around that.
